There has never been a better time to take a step in faith and be involved in our Church community!
What are your next steps? There are many ways to grow in your faith, and the pandemic has created some unique opportunities for you to seize the day now:
1. Watch Mass Online
–Billerica Catholic’s YouTube Channel
–Catholic TV
–Church of the Nativity – Tony Carbrello recommends this parish’s modern style of music and Mass; he almost attended a conference at this church last April.
2. Start some spiritual practices now, before school starts
-read your bible each day, maybe in the morning
-pray every day, maybe before you go to sleep at night
-give modern Christian music a try (not Church hymns) – check out 107.3 FM K-Love
Mr. Carbrello and many others are hoping that you will continue to be involved with the Catholic Community of Billerica. Here are a few opportunities for you to consider:
Religious Education – Especially during the pandemic, teens are best suited to lead in the digital environment. You could be a Teacher, Classroom Aide, Small Group Leader – Our religious education staff would be happy to give you the opportunity to pass along the faith you have received.
Teen Leadership Community – a group of teen leaders coming together for fun, community, and to grow in faith.
Confirmation Retreat Team – assisting with our Confirmation retreats. Remember yours? Some team members give talks, others help in a variety of ways.
Discipleship Team – we are looking for older teens who are willing to mentor other teens. Training and support will be provided.
Teen Ministry Involvement – we are continuing to develop a community of teens. What are you interested in? Possibilities include:
-Social gathering with food and discussion
-Pilgrimages and Trips
-Praise and Worship Music events (LIFT, IGNITE!)
-Christian/Community service opportunities
-Leadership Training / Growth Opportunities (Steubenville East, Discipleship week)
-Deep reflection / Scripture study
Ministries at Mass – Altar Server, Mass Assistant (Usher), Lector, or Minister of Communion – training would be provided. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we need more people helping with Masses. A lot of the people who helped in the past are unable to do so at this time – this is a great opportunity for you!
Music Ministry – when our Masses are able to include music again, we are developing new groups with a variety of music. See this post for more information.
We would be happy to speak with you about any of these opportunities – use the link to the form below and we will be in touch with you:
