Protecting God’s Children (Virtus) Training
In the Catholic Community of Billerica, are doing all we can to establish a safe environment. This includes having all our adult volunteers trained in the Protecting God’s Children (Virtus) program. This one-time training will provide useful information to protect our children and vulnerable adults by equipping those trained to establish safe environments, raise your awareness of the signs of abuse, and what responsibilities you may have legally as a mandated reporter (as one who volunteers in our community).
You may attend the training within the Billerica Collaborative, or attend a training at another parish if it is more convenient for your schedule. Please notify the Catholic Community of Billerica when you have completed this training outside of our collaborative, so we may update our records. Bring a copy of your training certificate, that you will receive at the conclusion of your training, to the Billerica Catholic Religious Education Office, or the St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish Office at One Grace Avenue in Billerica Center (behind St. Theresa Church).
In the process of updating our records, we found a number of volunteers for whom we do not have your training on file. If you believe you completed this training, please contact Tony at 978-667-3733 x445 so together we can verify your attendance.
Thank you for your attention to this important training and to ensure that our records are accurate.
